Building Language-Rich Systems: Lessons from an MAOF-SEAL partnership on DLL Development

February 11, 2026 | 11 am - 12 pm

Ontario, Calif.

✨ Presenters

Karen Salinas Ascencio, SEAL Senior Program Manager - Early Learning

Ana Ramos-Aguirre, Director, Early Dual Language Learner & STEAM, MAOF

✨ About the Session

How do early learning systems intentionally build rich, complex, and precise language for Dual Language Learners (DLLs) at scale? Designed for early learning leaders, this session explores the research behind effective DLL language development and brings it to life through the real-world implementation of SEAL in partnership with the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF). Participants will examine how coherent, thematic instruction work together to strengthen oral language development and why system-level alignment is essential for sustained impact.  Using MAOF’s implementation journey as a case study, leaders will gain insight into what it takes to move from strong classroom practice to durable, organization-wide change. Leaders will leave with concrete strategies and considerations for scaling and sustaining this work across programs and classrooms.

✨ About the Event
