The CDE is proud to introduce the new resource, “California’s Great Start, P-3 Guide to Supporting Multilingual Learners,” created to help P-3 school district leadership, preschool program administrators, principals, and other educators, so that they are better able to meet the needs of young multilingual learners across the state. Participants will hear from researchers and practitioners who will share practical strategies, research-based practices, and tools to strengthen children’s linguistic roots, helping them thrive in school and succeed in life.

California Department of Education (CDE) is pleased to announce the next installment of the Opportunities for All Branch PreKindergarten through Third Grade (P-3) webinar series, “P-3 Guide to Supporting Multilingual Learners: A Preschool through Third Grade Toolkit.”As part of the P-3 alignment series, this webinar is designed to support local educational agencies, community-based organizations, and their partners by showcasing the power of multilingualism in P-3 settings. We will explore why multilingualism is an asset for children and how supporting home languages strengthens cultural identity and builds a solid foundation for learning additional languages.
